USCIS wants my marriage certificate translated — does it need an apostille too?
For the USCIS filing itself, generally no — they want a complete certified English translation with the translator's certification. We provide that. An apostille is only for when a foreign authority needs your U.S. certificate recognized abroad.
My spouse's country wants our marriage certificate apostilled and translated.
That's a routine outbound job. Apostille the certificate first, then we translate both the certificate and the apostille into the destination language so nothing gets rejected at the consulate. We handle the translation; for the apostille step we point you to our apostille service.
